Live-in and Day Volunteers

Chenrezig Institute has two categories of volunteer.

Live-in work exchange participants: work approximately 30 hours per week. Benefits provided in return for this service are accommodation, meals, training and access to Buddhist teaching at the institute. For more information and to sign up, see the Live-in Volunteering Page.

Day volunteers: live off the premises and offer their assistance in a variety of roles on a regular or occasional basis. In return for their service, day volunteers earn ‘Dharma Dollars’ that can be used to offset the cost of Buddhist teachings at the institute. For more information and to sign up, see the Day Volunteers Page.

Chenrezig Institute is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT). Teachings at the Centre are based on the tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa as taught to us by our founder Lama Thubten Yeshe and Spiritual Director Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Lama Tsongkhapa (1357–1419) was the founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, of which His Holiness the Dalai Lama is a prominent teacher.
